The Rail Yard Wake Park to Host the 2025 Canadian Wake Park Nationals in Mount Albert, Ontario
The Rail Yard Wake Park is proud to announce it will host the 2025 Canadian National Wakeboard Championship from August 22 to 24, welcoming the country’s top riders to compete at one of Ontario’s premier cable wakeboarding facilities.
Sanctioned by Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada and Water Ski Wakeboard Ontario, the national championship is the highest level of competition in the country for wakeboarding. Riders from across Canada will gather in Mount Albert to compete in multiple divisions, showcasing skill, creativity, and progression in this rapidly growing watersport.
“We’re honoured to host this year’s nationals and welcome Canada’s best to The Rail Yard,” said Nick Frankruyter, Owner of The Rail Yard Wake Park. “Our team has been working hard to create a top-tier experience for athletes, families, and fans.”
The three-day event is open to the public and will feature competitive riding, music, food vendors, and activities for all ages. Spectators can expect an exciting, festival-like atmosphere with some of the best wakeboarding talent in the country on display.
“This is a huge moment not just for The Rail Yard, but for our entire community,” added Frankruyter. “Hosting Nationals puts Mount Albert on the map in the world of Canadian wakeboarding.”
This year’s championship is made possible in part through funding support from the Government of Ontario.
“Our government is proud to welcome top athletes from across Canada to Ontario for the 2025 Canadian National Wakeboard Championship,” said Neil Lumsden, Minister of Sport. “Through our Sport Hosting Program, we’re investing in events that not only inspire the next generation of athletes, but also drive tourism, boost local economies, and strengthen Ontario’s reputation as a premier destination for sport events.”
